Review ~ Forever Thine Workflow by Sleeklens

This is a review of the Forever Thine Wedding Workflow from Sleeklens. The workflow is a set of presets and brushes for Lightroom. The package also includes instructions on how to install the items, stack presets and recipes guides on how to combine presets and brushes to get a desired look.

Left: Original. Right: Wedding Happy preset and Vignette-Black Heavy.

Presets are preprogrammed looks that can be applied to images in Lightroom. If you are reading this then you are probably familiar with presets. There is a large market for presets for photographers. You never need to apply them but they can be a good starting point to achieve a look you want for your images. They don’t ruin your files. They can be applied quickly and you can see if you like the look or not.

Left: Original. Right: Black & White-Grace, Brighten Eyes brush and crop.

The Forever Thine package includes 112 presets and 23 brushes. Sleeklens markets the package for weddings. I shoot more than just weddings so I tried it out on a variety of images. In my opinion, it is a great all-around preset group and works for both weddings and portraits.

Left: Original. Right: Vignette-Black Dreamy.

The presets are good because you can apply them to an image, but then adjust the amount used. Want to use the full effect, fine. Too much? Dial it back. Want to add a vignette? Easy.

The bushes are very nice too. Yes, you could get the same effect by using the brushes built into Lightroom. With the Forever Thine brushes it’s easy to pick the effect you want because they are clearly labeled, and use that one. I really like the Enhance Eyes brush to make eyes pop.

Left: Original. Right: All In One-Best Man preset and Enhance Eyes adjustment brush.

I reviewed the workflow during the end of 2017, with the big change with Adobe, when they rolled out the new Lightroom Classic CC and replaced Lightroom CC. The workflow works in both programs. I am fully into Lightroom Classic CC and everything migrated over smoothly.

If you want to try out presets, I feel the Forever Thine Workflow from sleeklens is a good deal. It is not very expensive. Don’t be intimidated that it seems to be geared towards weddings. It works very well for portrait and wedding photography.
